smoking

good morning! school starts at 10am today. so i shall blog to kill time.
how time flies so fast. another week has passed. cepat eh? this also means a few more weeks to the YOG study break. and it also means ramadhan is coming real soon. :) may Allah bless all of us and forgive our sins during this blessed month of ramadhan. amin.
my sore throat aint getting better. now, i sound like a rocker chic. mcm ella gitu. serak2 basah. hahaha. my friends say it sounded sexayyyy.. ^-^ hopefully by sunday there will be a progress in the recovery of my sore throat as im eating at Al-Azhar with my relatives at dad's side to celebrate my uncle's birthday. his treat. and this beloved uncle of mine is not selfish with money. so we can buy anything that we want. and i hate it when it comes to food, i have to restrict myself from eating all those mouth-watering food just because of this stupid sore throat of mine. hmmph!
yesterday, i almost had fever. and i was at school that time. i feel so weak and hot and cold at the same time. futhermore, all my classes are in an air-cond room. thank god after taking my ablution for my zohor prayers, the fever seems to cool down. alhamdulillah. you know what, sometimes i feel soooo lazy to go and pray at school. like this feeling of nak solat ke tak.. but to think of it, with ablution it cleans my face since i have oily face. it cools me down when the weather is warm. it awakens me up whenever i feel sleepy in school.
and solat calms my soul. i do think alot about just anything that comes across my mind. its just a habit. and not a healthy one. i had this friend of mine who usually smokes whenever she have a problem. yes i do accompany her smoke since she needs companion and a friend to be there for her. we went outside the school find a spot to settle down and there she goes puffing all those cigarettes. of course there's other people who smokes there too since we arent allow to smoke in school. sometimes i wonder why smoke when there's other options to choose from to overcome your problems. that is solat.
Solat is the best exercise. Mohammed (SallAllah o Alehi Wassalam) Says:
Fajr - Increases Completion(Noor)
Zohr - Increases Income
Asr - Improves Health
Magrib - Good Future
Isha - Peaceful sleep” oh well, i will always hope and pray that my friends will realise the importance of solat. futhermore, smoking is haram in Islam. some of you may disagree with that statement as you think its just makruh to smoke.
Makruh is an Arabic word which means discouraged or detested. but smoking harms your body. it harms your respiratory system. and harming your body is haram. alhamdulillah my family members doesnt smoke. :)
here's what i get in the net.
These verses are sufficient to make smoking Haram.
- Smoking is a wasting of wealth. Allah says: ...But spend not wastefully (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift, Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the devils, and the Devil (Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord. (Quran 17/26-27)-
The smoker is unjust to himself as well as his family by burning away his money and his chest!
- The smoker not only causes harm to himself, he/she also inflicts harms upon others around him/her. The Prophet said: "There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm." (Saheeh Al-Jami 7517)-
The smokers cause the spread of evil; they smoke openly and thus encourage others to do the same.-
The smokers dislike fasting and praying because they become impatient. They want to go for the next "round". The smoker becomes like an edict.-
The smoker smells bad! His car, home, clothes etc. carry the bad smell too.
From the above, it is clear that smoking is evil and thus it is Haram (unlawful). If you are under any kind of stress, then turn to Allah, read the Holy Quran, and be with non-smokers. Seek Allah's help and don’t be enslaved to something that burns you and your money.
All smoking Muslims should give up this unhealthy and un-Islamic activity. The best way to give it up is to stop all smoking completely. Tapering off on the amount one smokes does not work for most people. It is not easy to quit suddenly, but it is presently the most successful way. There are many ways and techniques available for a serious minded person to give up smoking. For the Muslims who sincerely practice Islam and who submit themselves to the Will of God, this should not be a difficult task.so now i shall get ready for school.
may Allah bless you.
